Board Designated Funds

  • Mary Helton Fund for Musical Excellence
    The Mary Helton Fund for Musical Excellence was established in 1999 to honor the remarkable legacy of Mary Helton upon her retirement as Executive Director of Hoff-Barthelson Music School. A passionate advocate for the transformative power of music education, Mary’s vision continues to inspire through this fund, which is dedicated to furthering excellence in musical instruction.

  • Ruth Alperson Fund
    Established in honor of Dr. Ruth Alperson’s more than 40 years of service to Hoff-Barthelson Music School—including 23 years as Dean—the Ruth Alperson Fund for Excellence in Music Education supports programs and practices she helped shape. Reflecting Ruth’s enduring values, the Fund ensures that the School continues to foster a love of musical learning, nurture the whole person, and build a vibrant, inclusive community.

  • Wilma Machover Fund
    In honor of the late Wilma Machover, beloved Hoff-Barthelson Music School faculty member, pianist, colleague, and friend, the  School has established a new contemporary music residency and commission – as well as a creative development fund for students – in her memory.  For more information, click here.

Scholarships

Named scholarship and financial aid funds provide support for music students of significant potential whose progress reflects a serious commitment to studies. Ongoing support for our students is made possible through the following funds established by generous individuals and families:
